Should you announce what and where this barcode will do/take you?
As a best practice, should you alert the user to what this barcode will do when they scan it?
There are various possibilities here:
If you do nothing, the customer will scan the barcode and the application usually with then give a message suach as "connect to ..." or "call ..." and they confirm. This is the first time the customer will see what they have scaned.
If there is a message beneth or around the barcode with a URL or Phone number, then it gives a cue to the customer what will happen when the barcode is scanned.
If there are multiple barcode in close proximity, then an annoucement is crucial to allow the customer to select the barcode that best fits their goals.
If the barcode is damaged, the user will still be able to access the content, phone the number, etc.
Without an annoucement:
will a user scan the barcode as often
is there an expectation
