Test QR-Codes

 

note

source is in plain text, qrcode images are generated at http://qrcode.kaywa.com using the default medium sized setting unless otherwise stated. all tests should in future be done at all size settings with result recorded for physical dimensional difference.

Color Tests

Red Hue Test The QR code has been colored Red to tes if the hue makes a difference when attempting to read the value
75% Grey Test The Black portions of the QR code have been reduce to 75% grey to test the threshold of how much difference there needs to be
50% Grey Test The Black portions of the QR code have been reduce to 50% grey to test the threshold of how much difference there needs to be
25% Grey Test The Black portions of the QR code have been reduce to 25% grey to test the threshold of how much difference there needs to be
Inverted Color Test The normal black and white patterns have been inverted
Color Background Test The normal black registration on a yellow background
Multi-color Test Pixels in the image are various colors which produce another image

 

Basic Tests

HTML Markup  Simple HTML mark-up for rich text

Protocol Tests

data protocol using the data uri scheme, i encoded a red dot
map protocol the iPhone uses a psudeo maps: protocol to launch the map.app

Noise Tests

 

One Pixel quiet zone for solid background  
One Square quiet zone for the barcode with solid surroundings Test to see how close the quiet zone needs to be for a solid area around the image, using the width of one square buffer
One Square quiet zone for the barcode with checkered surroundings Test to see how close the quiet zone needs to be for a noisy checker board area around the image, using the width of one square buffer

  • white on black code, does result differ when whole screen is black, rather then just 1px border?
